Junior High Adventure Camps
Completed grades 6–8

This one is all summer camp. Jr. High campers live in our rustic campsites, experiencing God’s creation firsthand while participating in all the typical camp activities. Junior High Adventure 2 is an extended 10 day camp.

Come to Stronghold and make new friends while joining in:

Wilderness Adventure
C
ompleted grades 6–8

This exciting introduction to wilderness camping and out-trips will teach campers skills such as how to pitch a tent, how to properly pack a backpack, how to cook over an open fire and using a camp stove, and “Leave No Trace” outdoor ethics. Highlights of this camp include staying in tents at different sites throughout Strongholds 345 acres, two half-day canoe trips and an overnight day and a half canoe trip to Castle Rock State Park, a half day on our High Ropes course, and all the great games, swimming Bible study, and activities that make Stronghold a great place to spend the summer.

Medieval Music, Art, and Drama
Completed grades 6–8

Lords and Ladies fair will enjoy this performance camp. They will live in Stronghold Castle for the week while learning about medieval days and “castles”. Rehearsals are underway all week for the music and drama performance on Friday evening for family and friends.

Campers will enjoy:

• Swimming • Campfire time

Session July 13–18 $300



Junior High Trailriders
Completed grades 6–8

This is your chance to see the hills of the Rock River Valley from horseback. Come to Trailriders and spend half of each day at a local ranch learning how to ride and care for a horse. The skilled wranglers at the ranch are eager to help you get the most from this unique camping experience. No experience with horses is necessary.

Spend the other half of the day at Stronghold in traditional camp activities such as:

• Bible study • Arts and crafts
• Swimming • Hiking

Session June 22–27 $390



Treasure of Life
Completed grades 3–8

This camp is a partnership between Stronghold, Campfire International and Hospice of Joliet and is a time set aside for youth who have experienced the death of someone close to them. All typical activities are included along with counseling and therapeutic sessions. Grief professionals and summer staff make this a rewarding time for these campers who stay in the Castle.
