Stronghold

Retreat
and Camping
Center operated
as a ministry
of the Presbytery
of Blackhawk.
Stronghold
Summer Camps
strive to
provide
a nurturing
Christian
experience,
a caring
community
and a natural
environment
for today’s
campers.
It is our
goal to
provide
developmentally-appropriate
activities
for each
age group
and to offer
opportunities
to build
meaningful
relationships
with peers,
camp counselors
and with
God through
community
oriented
fellowship
and Bible
study.
During
the summer,
Stronghold
Summer Camps
become the
place where
many friendships
and memories
are born.
Our goal is
to provide
a safe, nurturing
Christian
experience
for youth
as a caring
community
in a natural
environment.
Stronghold
Summer Camps
offer youth
opportunities
to respond
positively
to the person
and ministry
of Jesus Christ,
grow in their
relationships
with God and
one another,
and increase
their understanding
and appreciation
for the world
around them.
Our program
is developed
as a progression:
from the day
camp for early
elementary
age youth
to senior
high experiences.
We guide each
individual
through the
various levels
and stages
of camping,
dealing with
important
issues of
life’s
journey. The
variety of
events listed
in this brochure
have been
developed
and staffed
to meet this
