Accommodations

The centerpiece of Stronghold is the unique Tudor-style manor house nestled high on the bluffs overlooking the Rock River. It features the Great Hall, which is perfect for gatherings in front of the massive wood fireplace. Castle has 4 floors plus a nice climb up to the tower overlooking the Rock River for miles!

Several of the Castle rooms can be used for meetings or seminars. Dormitory-style lodging with twin beds and bunk beds accommodates 56. The Castle has a full kitchen for use with pots and pans/dishes. There is also a kitchenette for small use. 2 refridgerators, 1 stove & 3 microwaves.

The Castle is heated by 3 large boilers to keep it nice and warm. The Castle does not have air conditioning, but we do have fans for each room and multiple for the large Great Hall. There is a beautiful breeze if you open the windows.

Stronghold's hotel style facility, Heritage Lodge, can accommodate adults and family groups. Adjacent to Brubaker Center, the Lodge offers a large gathering room with a gas fireplace on the 2nd floor, meeting room on the 1st floor, and 16 double occupancy bedrooms each with a private bath. Handicap accessible with an elevator for easy access to each floor. 

The meeting rooms have a coffee machine, a microwave, a small refridgerator and small sink.

You will need to bring your own coffee supplies for these coffee machines.

Heritage floor plan

A contemporary lodge, Sears Center sleeps up to 32 people. It has eight bedrooms, each with a double bed and 1 set of bunk beds. Four of these bedrooms have private baths, and the remaining four bedrooms share two connecting baths (Jack & Jill Style). A large central meeting room features a stone fireplace. Snack preparation area includes a sink and refrigerator. Sears Center has central heat and air.

All firewood is provided for the beautiful fireplace.

A separate, two-story wing of the Castle, Carriage House, offers a living/meeting room with a wood fireplace, full kitchen with pots and pans/dishes for 30, dining room, 6 bedrooms with bunk beds, 2 rooms have 2 twin beds. House has shared baths. Maximum 30 people. Carriage House has central heating and air.

Firewood is priovided for the fireplace.

Barrick Lodge is a secluded retreat facility with an exposed lower level, 1 large conference room on lower level and 1 large living room on upper level, full kitchen facilities with pots and pans/dishes, and an outdoor fire pit. Sleeps a maximum of 36 in dormitory style room with bunk beds. Barrick Lodge has central heating and air.

Firewood is provided for the firepit.

Designed for a smaller group, Hickory House sits in a wooded setting overlooking the Rock River. Features include a comfortable living room/conference room with a wood fireplace, galley kitchen filled with pots and pans/dishes for 12, and outdoor fire pit. Hickory sleeps a maximum of 12 people.  Each of the six rooms has 2 twin Tempur-Pedic mattresses, sink with a mirror and dresser. Private toilet room on each side of the house. 2 showers per side of the house 4 total. Hickory House has central heat and air.

Firewood is provided for the fireplace.

Bunkhouse provides a cozy cottage space for a small meeting or housing for leaders of a larger retreat. Or just a great space to have a getaway. A wing of the Castle, the Bunkhouse includes a full kitchen, gathering room, and two bedrooms, full size shared bathroom. One bedroom sleeps two people in a king-sized bed, the other sleeps up to four people in bunk beds.  The Bunkhouse has central heat and air.
